The Paedeia of God

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

 Ephesians 6:4

The scriptures clearly teach that parents, and specifically fathers, are to train their children up in the faith of our God. For he says elsewhere:  "And what was the one God seeking? Godly offspring."

Therefore, it is our duty as fathers to create a culture of Godliness in the home, that is, a culture that seeks to apply

ALL  OF  CHRIST  FOR ALL  OF  LIFE.

So what does this have to do with family worship? Well, family worship when done right, allows for a time in which you can have fellowship with your family, read scripture together, and praise God for His mercies of the day. All of which further the purpose of bringing up "Godly offspring" as they would be reading the words of the Most High, learning those truths which sanctify the mind and soul.

Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints, and give thanks to His holy name.

 Psalm 30:4

Let us sing then!

How do I do this?

Keep it simple!

Family worship ought not to be the worst part of the day, on the contrary. It ought to be a pace where everyone is comfortable and wants to be there. We musn't be so ridgid that we choek our children with the Bible nor too loose that the family worship time means nothing.

Here is a general guide to help with this process, please alter it with original ideas, shorten it if there a lot of homework due and elongate it on festive days, but just make sure you dont kill the spirit of this beautiful oportunity.
